Well it has been an intersting week. Maxx got his first cold this week. He had a little cough and sneezed a ton also. It started last week Sunday - which we took him to the after hours clinic to make sure he is ok. He didn't have a tempture but he did have a cough which worried us. The Dr said everything was normal and not to worry. Then Wednesday Maxx ended up finally get a slight temprature (100.7) and was very cranky from 4:30 PM till 10:30 PM. That is when we decided to call the after hours clinic again - well little did we know that they close at 10:30 PM and send you to the ER if there are any issues. So we headed to the ER and Maxx indeed had a fever but some how eneded up looking like he wasn't sick anymore. It was typical - we looked like a bunch of over reactive parents. Since he did have a tempture though they admited him and had some blood drawn and also a chest xray. It was very sad to see Maxx go thru this but you can't take chances with a baby less than 3 months old. Everything turned out ok and we were out of there by 1:45 AM. Maxx had his white blood cells evlevated which indicated he had a little viral infection (cold). They gave him a antibiotic and sent us on our way home.
The next few days Maxx started feeling better. We stayed home and slept a ton this week but still had some fun :)
So now Maxx is feeling better. The funny thing is that some how Maxx is now more alert than ever. He has found his hands and he has also started talking a ton more. We can have a conversation of grrrrrrrrr's and goooo's for a few minutes. It's so cute. We also have been seimming a ton in the bath tub - he can kick which is so cute. We have a surfer or a swimmer here - Tom you would be proud. We went to a Day One Center Mommy group and to the Discovery Museum with our friends Lilly & Oliver. Everyone who meets Maxx makes a comment that he is so alert for his age - we think so but what do we know. So hopefully he will keep it up and will make us all money some day. He is so social I think he will either be a sales guy or a politician - we will see.
Well that is it for now. I will add some photo's from the hospital & bath tub swim for you to enjoy. Take care.
Ale & Maxx
